Today is the first day of the rest of my life -- no wait, it's the first day of my Ultimate Cleanse! I have been wanting to do this again since I did it in January of 2007. Yes, I lost a little weight but that's not the point for me. I want the energization! I want the brain fog to clear! I want to dance (gratuitous Dazed and Confused reference)! It's really tough to do (at least for me) IF you do it right. Chicken or fish once a week and the rest is all roughage and fresh fruits, veggies and fiber. Zero Alcohol, zero red meat and limit sugar intake (most will come from natural sugar from fruits). At first, I wanted to do this for two months but I think I am going to do it the first month and see where it gets me. That may be all I need. I will update everyone sporadically on how it's going. Now, back to the Oatmeal and Nanner.
I await the Dietitian's response to this one.

The body cleanse or as some would say..."the get acquainted with your toilet and soft stools". In reality it should be called the intestinal brush out. Most dietitians are in favor of a quality cleaning, as long as you do not get caught up in all the smoke and mirrors. It will help clean up the old slip-n-side tube but for the most part it is a way of coercing people to eat the way they should. What most people call a cleansing diet...others call an everyday diet. The reason you feel better is that you are probably are getting all those pesky little vitamins and minerals, getting them in a form that is easier to process and whipping those lazy villi back into shape. It also gives your liver a little vacation.
Cleanse away my friend and let us know if you pass any pennies from your childhood.
I am going to buy stock in Scott tissue...
