You know, we all have "that day" when everything just seems to go wrong. Well, today could be the opposite. This has never happened to me and it has left me scratching the top of my flowing mane.
For starters, I get up and just happened to knock the television remote under the bed. As I looked under the bed I not only found the remote but my Joe Firstman CD I had been looking for for over two months. I don't know how it got there either (I know what your thinking).
Secondly, I am walking Mac Dog for his morning duties when I notice this other dog running towards me in a non threatening manner. I start petting the dog as Mac Dog is going absolutely nuts. I look up at the power pole and figured out that this was the dog that has been posted all over my neighborhood as lost for the last week. So I get the dog back to my house, call the number and waited for the owner to come get her. It gets better.
After playing an SPCA agent I get in my car and drive to the post office by my house. I notice this older lady trying to buy some stamps out of the machine but she couldn't see well or understand how to do it. I spoke up and said "ma'am can I help you with that?" She told me what she wanted and I got it for her. After a 5-minute conversation and her just delighted that there were still "nice young men" in this world she told me that her daughter is the district manager for Starbucks. She felt compelled to send me a free gift card for my help. I told her its okay but she insisted. I handed her my business card and went on my way. Although I am grateful, I hate Starbucks coffee. If (I mean when) I get the card I may just have to have to use it as a prize here on The Pad.
Now I am hungry after all my civil duties I had performed. I had the taste for a Hardees biscuit. But, I am out of cash so I pop in my car and head for the ATM. I get to Regions slide in my card and clicked "Quick $20" from checking. And lo and behold, $100 spurts out. I thought, the machine just messed up and it debited that from my account. Nope. It only debited $20. Okay, obviously I will go to the bank today and make right but at this point I am thinking "heck, what else could go right?"
So, I head over to Hardees. Order me a #1 and the total came to $4.06. I had a stack of $20's so I handed her one with $.06. She handed me my change and I put in my pocket and drove off. So, I get to work and, thinking nothing of it, I take the money out of my pocket to put it in my wallet. Well, anyone could figure she "should" have given me $16.00 back. Nope. She gave me $21. I like being paid to eat.
Okay, so now I am sitting at work and nothing bad has happened yet. In fact, I have just wasted 15 minutes of work time typing this message (it's all in your perception). Can it get better? When I get home today and get the mail will Ed McMahon tell me I may have already won $10,000,000? I am going to eat Chinese today just to see what my fortune cookie says. And, at this rate I may just have to gamble tonight since people are giving me money. I will keep you posted...stay tuned.
