--Michael Phelps is amazing. But isn't it odd, in all seriousness, that we wildly celebrate a guy whose contribution to this world is that he can swim fast?
--The U.S. Men's basketball team played Angola in the Olympics today (or yesterday or tomorrow). Is there anyone reading this that could pick out Angola on a map? Really?
--I always put my socks on before my pants.
--I fear a war with China. They are too disciplined.
--Every time you see people on TV having "fun" in the water they tend to be splashing one another when, in reality, being splashed is no fun at all.
--How in the world did John Edwards think he could keep his affair a secret in this day and time? And the National Enquirer, despite its reputation, breaks big stories all the time.
--There is no bigger time waste than an NFL pre-season game
--Is it just me or is that new guy on The Afternoon Sports Drive (WNSP)way overboard. Calm down dude.
--One guy on the radio this morning raised the interesting question of why do we give a death row inmate an elaborate "last meal." My last meal would be black eyed peas and cornbread, fried catfish/chicken, Cheez-Its, grits and key lime pie. But I'm pretty sure my stomach would be a tad bit too upset to eat it.
--Did anyone else notice that Lance Crawford is back on the air in local sports?
--Dont you have to be 16 to compete in the olympics? Please.

I feel sorry for Pat ( or is it Lee) Greenwood on the SportsDrive. The new guy has just taken over and runs roughshod all over Pat. The new guy is bringing a big market style of sports talk to WNSP that may or may not play in Mobile. Time will tell.
