News From The Elevator World

Just for your information, I will at times, share some Daily News nuggets from the Elevator Industry. Of course, only the most exciting and oustanding reporting will be included.

DOG SAVED FROM NEAR-FATAL ELEVATOR ACCIDENT

A woman revived a small dog after it was nearly strangled to death in an elevator accident in Leawood, Kansas. According to local news reports, the dog's owner was taking her shih tzu for a walk when the 12-year-old pet ran out of the elevator. Before the woman could react, the car was summoned to another floor, and the doors closed on the dog's leash. Two women passing by saw the animal dangling from the top of the door and were able to revive it, reportedly by using mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. By the time the dog's owner had run down the stairs to the ground floor, the dog was breathing again. A veterinarian later examined the dog and found it okay. The woman who revived the dog reportedly had used CPR to help revive her husband on three previous occasions.
