It's Like Rocky 8, But Worse!

Favre returns (again): QB meeting with Vikings

I may have found a new team to hate, besides Philly.

This is a shock. Did anybody see this coming? This news really came out of nowhere. I mean, back at the end of July, when BrettFavre announced he was done with football, that he didn’t have any gas left in his tank and he’d left it all out on the field, was there any reason to doubt it? When he called it “the hardest decision I’ve ever made,” why would any of us think this time he didn’t mean it, unlike the time he made the hardest decision of his life to retire from the Packers and the hardest decision of his life to retire from the Jets? This time, he really seemed sincere.

But by all means, this comes as great news for football fans everywhere. Because we get to see the ol’ gunslinger at it again. We get at least one more season of Cris Collinsworth and Dan Dierdorf and every other TV analyst tell us how every BrettFavre interception was a good decision because “he was trying to make a play.” We get 16 more games worth of reminders how “he’s not just a quarterback, he’s a football player.” We get to see him add to his innumerable records like “Career INTs” and “Late Season/Playoff Games Coughed Up.” We’ll get another press conference where he and Deanna explain how they went back to Mississippi and he did his Bayou Hamlet act all summer long but finally decided he had too much football in him to call it a career prematurely. We get the spectacle of him showing up to camp three weeks late and telling us how a team of guys he’s never met before are his closest and dearest friends in the world and he’d run through walls for him. And how he’s all about putting the TEAM first, and that’s why his sole focus is on getting revenge against Green Bay. We get to watch him destroy his third different franchise in three consecutive years. And best of all, when the season is over, we get to do this all over again. So welcome back, Mr. Relaxed Fit Wrangler. How can we miss you when you won’t go away?

BOG...do not be so cynical....dont you think that the VIKINGS have put the full court press on Favre. They cam to the conclusion that he is a way better option than the Spice Rack (Sage Rosenfels) and Tavarious Jackson..a project at best...they crawled back to Miss and opened up the bank for the old man.
